Eris D’Eir is a contemporary aerialist, circus artist, circus coach, and event creator based in Montreal. In their performing work, they specialize in aerial acrobatics, sword swallowing, fire performance, and fakirism, including their novel aerial sword swallowing chains piece. Their work combines emotionally driven movements with an inquiry into embodiment, transformation, and the phenomenology of danger. Through a multidisciplinary practice, they explore how risk, sensation, and perception shape the experience of both performer and audience.
In addition to artistic independent productions, their portfolio includes collaborations with clients such as Nicholas Feuillatte, The Baltimore Museum of Art, and New York City’s Starrett-Lehigh Building.
As a coach Eris brings technical training, kinesiology-informed injury prevention, and artistic pedagogy to a confluence. Eris teaches aerial apparatuses (trapeze, silks, rope, hoop, chains, straps loops, hammock, and duo work) as well as flexibility and fire.
